Ron Dubberly

Ronald Dubberly brings to LSSI clients more than 30 years of high-level experience as a library system director and library consultant. He led the 35-branch Atlanta Fulton County Public Library System for 10 years; the 22-branch Seattle Public Library for 12 years; and the 7-branch Sioux City (IA) Public Library for 6 years. He worked with LSSI as the administrator for the Riverside County Library System and the Jersey City Free Public Library. He also worked for the Baltimore County Public Library as a branch manager and administrative assistant to the Director.
Mr. Dubberly is a frequent speaker on the changing needs of libraries and their users, and constituent-based management perspectives in public libraries. He has extensive experience in conducting surveys and needs assessments for libraries, including user surveys, management assessments, and evaluations of staff, systems, and management. He has recruited high-level professional library staff for LSSI and leading US libraries, and provides staff training on customer service issues. He earned his MLS degree from Florida State University.

Susan Hauer

Susan oversees the company’s public library contracts in Tennessee, Texas, Kansas and FLorida, working closely with local officials as well as supporting LSSI’s library directors in their activities with community groups such as library boards and friends of the libraries.
Susan headed the Lancaster County, PA, system of 14 federated libraries, and led the organization to increased circulation, programming, community outreach, and grant support over her 8 year tenure. She also served in fund-raising and managerial roles for the Southern Adirondack Library System which serves 4 counties in upstate New York and was Director of the Town Esopus Library, New York.
Her expertise in library management derives from both her MLS from the University of New York at Albany and her first career as a successful businesswoman in the restaurant industry—a role that honed her skills in planning, budgeting, and customer service.

Bob has led LSSI's sales and marketing activities since joining the company in June 1990.
Prior to joining LSSI, Bob served for 12 years as the Vice President of Sales with CLSI, Inc., where he developed and implemented a sales training and incentive program and managed the highest producing sales force in the industry.

Steve Coffman

Steve oversees the design of new library products and services. His current focus is new library funding and operating models. Steve pioneered the virtual reference 'movement' and, with LSSI, helped thousands of libraries move their reference services to the Web.
Prior to joining the LSSI team, Steve spent 15 years at the County of Los Angeles Public Library where he was the Director of FYI, the County's Business Research Service.
Steve wrote Going Live! Starting and Running a Virtual Reference Service, available from ALA Editions. He regularly contributes articles to library journals, including: "What If You Ran Your Library Like a Bookstore?," and "Saving Ourselves: Plural Funding for Public Libraries". Steve has his MLS from UCLA.

Mark Smith

LSSI's Senior Vice President for Public Library Operations/West also serves as the Project Manager for the Riverside County Library System (RCLS) contract, overseeing operations at the 34 branch libraries in Riverside County, CA, as well as the Moorpark (CA) Library, the three-branch Shasta County (CA) Libraries, and the fifteen-branch Jackson County (OR) Library System. Mr. Smith supervises more than 300 employees, coordinating new facility development and building, overseeing purchasing for these systems, and assisting with system automation needs.
Mr. Smith was named the California Library Association Member of the Year in 2004, and has won numerous library grants and other funding. He has published three books on library topics including writing a book on how to provide outstanding customer service for libraries. Mr. Smith earned his MLIS degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

George Bateman

George joined LSSI in May 1997 and has been instrumental in outlining and implementing sales strategies.
Prior to joining LSSI, George was Vice President of Sales for the prestigious Dynix Corporation during the largest 5 year growth period in its history.

Frank Pezzanite

In 1981, Frank and Judy Pezzanite founded Library Systems & Services, LLC to produce specialized computer applications for libraries and to provide library facilities management services.
Previously, while working at Informatics, Inc., Frank developed the MINI MARC minicomputer cataloging system and the BIBPRO IV bibliographic products software package. MINI MARC won the Information Industry Association's "Technology of the Year" award in 1980, when its 40 installations served more than 2,500 libraries in 23 states and Canada.
Frank is a member of the American Library Association, and has made numerous presentations on library automation and contracting.

Judy C.M. Pezzanite

As a founder and owner of LSSI, Judy has overseen all operational activity for LSSI since its inception in 1981. She manages a staff of more than 650 in the areas of library management and outsourcing.
