Western State Bank of Garden City has accepted a challenge from the Friends of the Finney County Public Library to help fund the library's Nature Explore Classroom. Each organization will contribute $5,000 making a combined grant to the project of $10,000.

Palmdale City Library Now Open Seven Days, Longer Hours for 2013
PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library has announced its new hours of operation for 2013, which will increase both the number of days and the total number of hours that its services will be available. Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 2 the Palmdale City Library’s hours of operation will be Monday through Thursday, from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.

City of Palmdale Votes In Favor Of Public-Private Partnership
PALMDALE, CA – On December 5, the Palmdale City Council voted 5-0 in favor of awarding a contract to Library Systems & Services, LLC (LSSI) to operate the Palmdale City Library.
